“Obviously citing LTJ Bukem as one of my main influences, you'd probably guess that I prefer to listen to Drum n Bass that’s deep, atmospheric and meaningful. Tracks that take you on a journey
and that inspire you. Music that provokes thoughts, makes you
feel good.
I personally see this particular style of Drum n Bass as more of an art form, It's not just about the
music, but everything that goes with it.
Lets face it, there are no rules when it comes to making Drum 'n' Bass, but there are tracks that sound good and there are tracks that sound awful.
Personally, I try to push the more musical side. There are so many garbage producers out there getting props on 1xtra and from the likes of Zane Lowe on Radio1, which is fair enough if that's what you like to call Drum 'n' Bass. But lets see if these same producers are still around in 10 years time. I know I will be. There's not many artists producing good, deep,atmospheric, musical tracks any more, so it makes it all that more special when you come across any that are. Please lets not confuse 'liquid' with deep atmospherics either,because that would be very wrong!
Photek, Peshay, Source Direct, Paradox, Tayla, Blame, PFM, Goldie, Neil Trix, Good Looking, Moving Shadow,
Metalheadz, Reinforced and all the other producers and record labels that have helped create, support and extend the life
of this progressive, future smoothed out Drum 'n' Bass sub genre, thanks. My main aim is to try and recreate the same buzz you get from listening to tracks now, as you did when you first picked up that awesome 12" that first got you hooked on this music in the first place.
